Work experience is one of those terms that many people will associate with endless hours stood at a photocopier or a kettle, doing menial tasks for everyone around you and watching from the sidelines. It’s one of those things that is so daunting, but a great way to get an insight into a company or industry. For the next week and a half, I will be spending time at Frank PR, a top London agency in Camden Town, London. So week 1, how was it?! First things first, we have to remember that I am a student who has only just finished a year of University. Therefore, I regularly treat myself to generous lie-in’s. This meant that my new daily routine was a big shock to my system. I have to get up at 6:30am everyday, out the door by 7:30am to commute to London for a 9:30am start. The long commute also means that I don’t get home until 7:45pm/8:15pm every evening (apart from early finish Friday’s!!). So no late nights for a while…. After my long commute on Monday morning, I arrived at Frank’s Camden office about 40 minutes early – it’s all about creating a good first impression! I was so nervous, mainly because I wasn’t really sure what to expect – I had visions of walking in and being expected to write a press release there and then which would have been a challenge on the first day!
