One of the best decisions I made this year / top tip for PR students

This weekend, I stood up and told potential students about my experiences studying PR and why I chose to study it at Bournemouth. Every time, I found myself referring back to my work experience. Not only referring here but also in my placement applications. A realisation hit me which is the reason behind this post! I know it’s another kind of advice post but I felt I wanted to post it! Although it may be hard to believe when you meet me, I’ve not always been as confident as I am now. That was until a year of uni and especially this…

Student Survival Guide: Moving out, the highs and lows

Moving away sucks at first, there’s no beating around the bush about it. You’ve spent (well in my case) 19 years building yourself a life where you live. Friends two minutes away, a job and a family. And then suddenly it all changes. You have to make new friends, new memories, adapt to a new area and have to cope without being near the family and friends you know and love. Finally my family and friends may have a better understanding of what PR is and what I want to do. However after watching this week’s episode, the idea my family and friends now have of PR…

Wiltshire, oh Wiltshire

I was lucky enough to be able to finally go back home for a few days last week. I’ve missed everyone loads so even if it was for two days it was so nice to finally be back! Seeing as Autumn is my favourite season and I’ve just been home I thought a post like this would be good! It’s one of those things you learn to accept at uni. Either people will have no idea where you live or they’ll have a completely wrong perception of where you live. I don’t live that far from University, only about an…

Samsung Galaxy Note 7….a crackingly brilliant crisis response or are they a bit burnt out?

If you haven’t heard about Samsung’s recent crisis, I’ll be surprised. Samsung recently recalled and stopped production of their new Galaxy Note 7 smartphone less than two months after they launched it. This smartphone was due to be their flagship device until reports came in that 35 of them had set on fire. Before they knew it, Samsung had a global crisis on their hands. But how did they respond & did they fall victim to the crisis response trap? Samsung chose to respond to this crisis by initiating a global recall of all devices. Only 35 of the Note…
